PAST EVENTS
One of the most influential things you can do to fight climate change is to come to State House, meet your legislators, and encourage them to support strong climate polices (like Act on Climate 2020!). But if you're new to the State House, it can be tricky to know where to start, which bills to support, or how to make your voice heard.
During our first 2020 Climate Crisis Week of Action, join seasoned environmental advocates to learn how policies are made and be part of our campaign to address the climate crisis in Rhode Island. No prior experience in advocacy or climate change policy is required! We know you're busy, so you have a choice of three days to get involved.
3:30pm - 4:30pm, Tuesday, February 25th: State House Day of Action
RSVP to be paired with an experienced advocate who will lead you on a tour of the State House, introduce you to legislators, and help you practice new climate communications skills. We will gather at 3:30pm at the RI State House.
7pm - 9pm, Wednesday, February 26th: Phone Bank at Clean Water Action
Can't make it to the State House during work hours? Join us at Clean Water Action (60 Valley St. #101, Providence, RI) to call legislators and meet other advocates. We'll guide you through the phone bank!
3:30pm - 4:30pm, Thursday, February 27th: State House Day of Action
If you can't make Tuesday, February 25th (or if you want back for more), join us on Thursday. We will again meet at 3:30pm at the RI State House. Further details to be sent with RSVP.
The more people, the more action. Invite a friend, neighbor, or family member to come along with you. By raising our voice together, we can build Rhode Island's climate movement.
