The Climate Crisis Campaign supports solutions to the climate crisis that will create jobs, protect our most vulnerable communities, and hold our government accountable to a zero carbon future.

Act on Climate 2020 (H7399 & S2165)

The Climate Crisis Campaign supports the Act on Climate 2020 bill (sponsored by Rep. Blazejewski and Sen. Euer), which will hold the Rhode Island government accountable to reducing carbon pollution in line with what the science tells us we need. Currently, Rhode Island is falling behind on its non-mandatory emissions reductions targets; Act On Climate 2020 lays the foundation for building strong climate policies and programs into the future.

The Rhode Island General Assembly has not passed a single significant climate legislation in years, and the Speaker of the House recently claimed that there's nothing Rhode Island can do about climate change. We need your help to show Rhode Island's leaders that they have a responsibility to act on climate.
The state can’t simply hope that we reach our emissions reductions targets; Rhode Island has to do it. The bill provides a critically important accountability mechanism to make sure the state takes prompt action to address the climate crisis."
